EIRELIE

Eirelie is a Kiwi/Australian, Independent Alternative Singer-Songwriter and she has been writing for as long as she can remember. Filling her iPhone notes, journals and voice memos to their brink, she began her journey writing poetry and short stories only picking up the guitar to accompany these words at the age of 17. Since then her catalogue has surpassed the 200 mark and it continues to grow.

“I take inspiration from every experience I have; I tend to focus on interpersonal relationships, of any nature. Writing about people and the gravity of their actions and words is something everyone knows. Sometimes I try to write open-ended songs (like ‘someone you loved’ – Lewis Capaldi) where the listener can interpret it as a romantic, platonic or familial relationship etc. there’s something so magical about the way writing can do this and it’s something I’ve been fascinated with my whole life.”

Eirelie prides herself on being able to narrate experiences others cannot put into words and feels like a vessel for these people to vicariously live and write through. From the lonesome depths of her Sydney bedroom, she aims to bring an intimacy and tenderness to the forefront of pop music.

She grew up as a dancer with a knack for the creative arts, studying music, art, drama and dance at a performing arts school in Sydney.

Written and recorded criss-cross-applesauce on the edge of her bed in her grandmothers’ duplex, Eirelie tries to keep her music as intimate as the space she creates it in. She doesn’t shy away from calling out the people who’ve wronged her or the people she cares about, but she will attempt to soften the blow with sweet melodies and haunting harmonies.

“All I want to do is share my stories, that’s always what writing music has been about for me. Yeah, it’s therapeutic and one of my better coping mechanisms, but there’s something so special about seeing the effect something you’ve worked on has on someone else.”

Acknowledged by the likes of FINNEAS, JP Saxe, Olivia Rodrigo and Clinton Kane, Eirelie truly is encapsulating pivotal moments in the world around her and is bringing an element of confessional and almost painful honesty to her music through her poetic lyrical ability.

Eirelie is currently working on an upcoming project. Keep your eye out as soon as the leaves start to change…
